Okay, here is my sharing about the OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Sapphire:

So, I finally got my hands on the OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Sapphire. I’ve been eyeing this baby for a while now, and let me tell you, it was quite the journey to get here.

First off, I started by reading everything I could find about the Speedmaster collection. I mean, I dove deep. I spent hours going through forums, blogs, and you name it. I wanted to know everything about this watch, especially its history with space and all that cool stuff. I got stuck on the idea that it was good enough for those astronauts then it’s good enough for me, right?

Decisions, Decisions

Then came the hard part, picking the right model. There are so many Speedmasters out there! I debated between the Hesalite and the Sapphire versions. I know the Hesalite is more “authentic” to the original Moonwatch, but the Sapphire’s scratch resistance sounded pretty sweet. Plus, I loved the idea of showing off that beautiful movement through the case back.

After weighing the pros and cons, I decided to go for it. I went with the Sapphire version, and to be honest, it was the open case back that won me over. You can see all the little gears and the way it all works together, and, well, I’m a sucker for that kind of thing.

The Hunt Begins

Next, I tried to find it. I really tried to check out some other places online, but most of them were not the official ones. Then I remembered, the first Tuesday of 2021! They had something about an event, I should have made a purchase that day, but I missed it.

So, I made up my mind, and started looking for the official OMEGA place. I found it. It took me a while but I finally found a specialty store near me. I gave them a call, and they said they had the watch in stock! I felt like I’d struck gold.

The Big Day

I went down to the store, and man, I’m so happy I did! The folks there were super helpful. They showed me the watch, let me try it on, and answered all my questions. Seeing it in person, I knew I’d made the right choice. It’s even more stunning than in the pictures. It fit perfectly on my wrist. I was sold.

I ended up buying it right then and there. I’m not gonna lie, it was a bit of a splurge, but totally worth it. I walked out of that store with a huge grin on my face, and I haven’t taken it off since. I wear it everywhere. I wear it to work, I wear it when I’m just hanging out at home, I even wore it to my cousin’s wedding last weekend.

Here is what I did after I got the watch:

  • Showed it off: I made sure everyone I knew saw my new watch. My friends, family, even the cashier at the grocery store got an eyeful.
  • Admired the Movement: I spent a good chunk of time just staring at the movement through the case back. It’s mesmerizing!
  • Took Pictures: I took a bunch of pictures of the watch from different angles and in different lighting. Got to get those good angles for the ‘gram, you know?

It’s not just a watch, it’s a piece of history, and I’m stoked to be a part of it. This Speedmaster is definitely a keeper, and I can see myself passing it down to my kids someday. Or maybe not, I’m kind of attached to it, you know.
