This here OMEGA Speedmaster Skywalker X-33, that’s a mouthful, ain’t it? They call it a copy, like them fake bags you see down the market. But this one, it’s supposed to be like the real deal, just not costin’ ya an arm and a leg. This old lady don’t need no fancy watch, my clock works just fine. But I hear them young folks, they all want these OMEGA Speedmaster things. This Skywalker, it’s made for them astronaut fellas, and pilots flyin’ them big planes up in the sky.
Now, I don’t know much about flyin’ and space and all that, but I do know a thing or two about a good deal. If you want somethin’ that looks like the real OMEGA, this copy might be the way to go. They say it has this fancy thing inside called a “quartz movement.” Sounds like somethin’ you’d find in the ground, don’t it? This OMEGA calibre 5619, that’s what they call it, it’s supposed to keep the time real good. Keeps things ticking along and keep that watch movin’ and grovin’.
They got these other ones, too. Speedmaster Reduced, that’s what it’s called. Sounds like they shrunk it down, like when you wash your clothes in hot water. They stopped makin’ those in 2009, that’s what I heard. But they still got smaller ones, like this Speedmaster Racing and Speedmaster 38. For folks who don’t want a big ol’ thing on their wrist, I reckon. That’s probably better, a big ol’ thing will probably get in the way of you gettin’ your work done.
Now, this here copy, it ain’t gonna be as good as that Rolex Daytona. Heard them rich folks talkin’ ’bout that one. They say it’s “Superlative” somethin’ or other. Means it keeps time better than anything, I guess. Don’t lose but a couple seconds a day, or somethin’ like that. This OMEGA copy, it might not be that good, but it’ll still tell ya the time, more or less. Ain’t nobody gonna be checkin’ to see if you’re a second or two off, right?

I seen pictures of this Skywalker X-33 Titanium watch. Looks kinda space-age, don’t it? All shiny and silver. They say it’s made outta titanium. That’s some strong stuff, I reckon. Stronger than my old tin roof, that’s for sure! Keeps the rain out, most of the time, anyways. This watch, it’s probably tougher than it looks. Gotta be if them astronauts are wearin’ it.
Why would anyone want a copy of an OMEGA Speedmaster? Well, I guess some folks just like the look of ’em. Like wearin’ a fancy hat to church. Makes ya feel important, I suppose. Or maybe they just can’t afford the real one. Them real OMEGAs, they cost a fortune! More than I make in a year, that’s for sure. This copy, it’s a way to get the look without spendin’ all your money. It’s like gettin’ the next best thing without havin’ to pay top dollar.
Some folks say these copies are too big. Like wearin’ a dinner plate on your wrist! I don’t know about that. Maybe it depends on how big your wrist is. My wrists are pretty skinny, so it might look big on me. But if you got big ol’ arms like my neighbor, it might look just right. You gotta try it on and see, I guess. Gotta make sure it’s comfortable and it ain’t gonna be catchin’ on everythin’ you walk by.
This whole OMEGA Speedmaster Skywalker X-33 thing, it’s a bit much for this old lady. I’m happy with my simple life. But I can see why some folks might want one. It’s like a little piece of somethin’ special, even if it is just a copy. Just like havin’ a picture of somethin’ nice, even if you can’t have the real thing. It’s a way of havin’ somethin’ nice without havin’ to spend every penny you got.
If you’re thinkin’ about gettin’ one of these copy OMEGA things, I say go for it. Just make sure you know what you’re gettin’. It ain’t the real deal, but it’s close enough for most folks. And it won’t cost ya an arm and a leg. You can use that extra money and get somethin’ you really need, or want! Just don’t go tellin’ everyone it’s a real OMEGA, now. That wouldn’t be right. Just enjoy it for what it is, a nice lookin’ watch that tells the time. That’s all that really matters, ain’t it?
