Listen up, folks! Today I wanna talk about that fancy watch, what’s it called? High imitation Rolex No-Date Black Submariner. Yeah, that’s the one. See, my grandson, he’s always going on about these things. Says they’re a big deal. Now, I don’t know much about these fancy things. But I hear these Rolex Submariner, they’re somethin’ special. Even the fake ones are all the rage these days. This one don’t have no date on it, they call it “No-Date.”
This Rolex, it’s black. Black as coal, that’s what they say. And shiny! Oh, it’s so shiny. They say it’s a flagship store deal, whatever that means. Sounds important, right? My grandson, he says even the official flagship store ones ain’t always the real deal. Can you believe it? He says lots of folks are buyin’ these fake ones, ’cause they look just like the real thing, but cost way less.
He was tellin’ me how to tell if it’s a real one or not. It’s all so complicated! He kept sayin’ it’s gotta be heavy, like a good, solid piece of metal. That’s how you know. He said that the real Submariner is about 40, what’s the word he used? “Mill-ee-meters”. That is about 1.57 inches for the case diameter. Sounds tiny to me, but what do I know? I just used to measure things with my thumb. He said, if it is too light, it is a fake one.
And the numbers! Oh, the numbers. He said there’s supposed to be some tiny numbers on it. A serial number, he called it. And a model number. The real Rolex has the serial and model number. He said you need a magnifying glass to see ’em, they’re that small! I guess they don’t want just anybody readin’ ’em. But I tell ya, my eyes ain’t what they used to be. I can barely thread a needle these days, let alone see those tiny numbers. It should be on the watch.

He also said you can check the guys who sell you the watch. If the guy is not an authorized dealer, you might get a fake one. I don’t know what an authorized dealer is. They are just some guys who sell watches I guess.
He says these fake Rolex Submariner, they’re everywhere. Even some of the big-shot dealers are sellin’ ’em! Heard a story about a fella who bought one from a fancy store, paid a whole heap of money for it, and it turned out to be a fake! Imagine that! All that money, and you end up with a fake. He tried to go back to the store and they wouldn’t even give him the time of day. They said there is no history with this watch. So, he was stuck with it. It is like a secret handshake you need to do if you want a real watch. What a world. My grandson said you should do the secret handshake. Then you might get a real one. Why don’t they just sell the real ones?
It is all so confusing, but it is kind of interesting. I guess. You need to be really careful when you buy these things. So many things you need to check if you want a real Rolex. I think I will just stick to my old watch. At least I know it is real, even if it don’t shine so bright. I don’t need no fancy watch to tell me what time it is. All these things about these watches. It is making me tired. I am going to have a nap now.
