Alright, folks, gather ’round, let me tell you about this little project I’ve been messing with. It involves a watch, not just any watch, but a copy of the OMEGA Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary. Now, I’m not rich, so I didn’t get the real deal, but I did manage to snag a pretty convincing replica from this guy who deals with original order stuff.
First off, I spent days, maybe weeks, online looking at pictures and reading about this Snoopy watch. It’s a big deal, this watch, something about NASA and Apollo 13, and it’s got Snoopy on it, which is pretty cool. I found out it’s not a limited edition, but everyone wants one. So, naturally, I wanted one too, but like I said, my wallet ain’t that fat.
I started digging around for replicas, and boy, there are a lot of them. Most of them looked cheap, though. Then I stumbled upon this one source. They claimed to have original order versions, so I took a chance and ordered it. When that package finally showed up, I was like a kid on Christmas morning.
I carefully opened it up, and there it was, the Snoopy Speedmaster copy. It was heavier than I expected, and the blue color was spot on. It even had that little Snoopy on the back flying around, just like the real one! I was seriously impressed.
- First thing I did was check the size – 42mm, just like the original.
- Then I started playing with the chronograph, you know, the stopwatch function. It felt solid, and the buttons clicked nicely.
- The strap was blue nylon, and it felt pretty good on my wrist.
I’ve been wearing this thing for a while now, and I gotta say, it’s a conversation starter. People ask me about it all the time, and I just give ’em a little wink and tell them it’s “special”. I even started timing my workouts with it, just because I can.
Now, I know it’s not the real OMEGA, but for the price, this copy is pretty darn good. It feels good, it looks good, and it makes me feel a little bit like an astronaut. Or at least, like someone who appreciates a good story and a cool watch.
How It Ended Up
I guess what I’m trying to say is, sometimes you can find some pretty amazing things if you’re willing to do a little digging and take a little risk. This Snoopy watch project turned out way better than I expected. It wasn’t too hard, and the outcome was great. This copy watch is almost like the real deal. I am very happy with it and I’m gonna keep wearing it and enjoying it. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll get my hands on a real one, but for now, this little copy will do just fine. It is a really great watch, and I feel good every time when I wear it.
